Finasteride is a prescription drug prescribed to treat male pattern baldness androgenetic alopecia. It is a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor (5ARIs) that blocks the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone that shrinks hair follicles in men. The drug also helps to slow down hair loss and slow down the growth of the prostate gland. However, the side effects of this drug can range from mild to severe, so it is important to speak with your doctor before starting the treatment. In addition, it is important to note that the 5ARIs are not approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or other regulatory bodies. Therefore, it is important to seek advice from a healthcare professional before starting treatment with finasteride. In addition to the potential side effects, it is also essential to follow the doctor’s instructions regarding dosage and administration. If you are taking finasteride, it is important to consult with a healthcare professional to ensure it is safe and appropriate for your individual needs.
